Adding Resources to the APSU Group

If you have already created an open education resource or open textbook that is hosted on your website or another online platform, you may share it with others in the group. You may also want to share helpful open education resources (created by others) that you use with your students. Please note, any member of the OER Commons portal may be able to discover items you have uploaded.

Add existing OER materials to the APSU group by following this procedure:

  1. Request to join the APSU Group
  2. In the APSU Group portal, click on the green "Contribute to this Group" button.
  3. Choose the option labeled "Submit from Web"
  4. Follow the instructions starting with "Step 1" at Submit OER.
  5. If you have questions regarding copyright permissions or Creative Commons (CC) licenses, please see Permissions Guide For Educators.
  6. Your resource is sent to the OER Commons Librarians to be reviewed and approved before it is added to the group.

You can use the Open Author tool available directly within the OER Commons APSU Group to create resources with both instructor and student facing views.

Create new OER materials by following this procedure:

  1. Request to join the APSU Group
  2. In the APSU Group portal, click on the green "Contribute to this Group" button.
  3. Choose the option labeled "Open Author"
  4. Follow the instructions provided at Create a Resource with Open Author or view the video tutorial provided below.
