Finding the Right Journal

Publishing research and scholarly work is a key component of an academic career. However, knowing the best journal and platform to publish  your work can be a challenge.

There are a variety of online resources and websites that can assist you in locating the right journal to showcase your research.

Finding Journals in PeaySearch

PeaySearch allows users to search for journals that are available through Woodward Library's paid subscriptions. To search journals, use the Advanced Search option and select "Journal Search" from the options found across the top of the page. You can search journal by title, ISSN, or browse by category.

Cabell's

Cabell’s Directory of Publishing Opportunities provides scholarly analytics that help simplify the research process by providing decision-ready data and insights about scholarly publications. The database includes publication information for journals, including acceptance rates, the peer review process, publication timeline, impact factors, open access information, and more.

The Predatory Reports provide a searchable database of predatory journals with detailed summaries of deceptive behaviors, including a rating of the journal's violations.

1. Access Cabell's through the library's Databases A-Z list.

2. Search journals by title, discipline, ISSN, etc. using the search box at the top of the page.

3. Use the Filter options to refine your search by Discipline, Topic, Acceptance Rate, Scite Index, Altmetric Report, etc.

4. Click on the box for a specific journal to see more information.
