LIBR 2001: Empowering Information Seekers in the Digital Age
Empowering Information Seekers is an online, asynchronous course designed to help students navigate the digital information landscape by developing skills in identifying, evaluating, and ethically using information from various sources, including databases and social media. The course explores ethical issues like copyright, plagiarism, and privacy, while also offering insights into Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs), focusing on their role in academia and the workplace. Students will critically examine algorithmic bias, data privacy, and responsible AI use, preparing them to ethically engage with information in today’s digital world. No prerequisites; open to all majors.
