In celebration of National Library Week (April 23 - 29, 2023), we are offering two book folding workshops where we will be making a beautiful heart design using the pages of a book!

Tuesday, April 25, 2023: 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. Woodward Library, Room 232
Wednesday, April 26, 2023: 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Woodward Library, Room 232

Book folding art is a unique and fascinating craft that involves carefully folding the pages of a book to create a three-dimensional design. It's a great way to repurpose old or unwanted books, and the end result is a stunning piece of art that you can display in your home or give as a gift.

During the workshop, our experienced instructor will guide you through the process step-by-step, and you'll have plenty of time to practice and perfect your folding technique. The workshop is FREE! We'll provide all the materials, including the books. No prior experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome.

There are limited seats available, so be sure to register early on PeayLink to secure your spot. This is a great opportunity to learn a new skill, meet new people, and celebrate National Library Week in a creative and meaningful way. We hope to see you there!

The Woodward Library and the Woodward Library Society Catalog Naming Contest

This summer, the Woodward Library will launch a new catalog system that will provide users with a one-stop search solution for accessing library resources. We need help from our students to come up with a catchy and memorable name that reflects the mission and values of our Library.

We invite all current students to participate in the contest and suggest a name for the new library catalog. The winner of the contest will receive a cash prize of $400, with second and third prizes of $200 and $100 respectively.

To enter the contest, simply click the link below and fill out the form with your suggested name. Please note that we only accept one entry per person, so make sure you choose your best name!

Contest Form: https://forms.gle/32nPEiYQpfZHumZa6

The contest deadline is Friday, April 21, 2023, and the winner will be selected by Wednesday, April 26, 2023. The winning name will be featured on the Library website, social media pages, and in all of our promotional materials for the new catalog.

The contest is sponsored by the Woodward Library Society, an organization of library friends dedicated to the advancement of the Felix G. Woodward Library of Austin Peay State University. The Society seeks to maintain an association of persons interested in strengthening and advancing the Library, providing and attracting financial support for the Woodward Library, sponsoring events and activities consistent with the purpose and mission of the Library, and promoting the Library's visibility by demonstrating its value as the center of a learning enterprise.

Membership to the Society is open, upon payment of annual dues, to any person, business, or organization that shares in the purpose of the Society.

Thank you for your participation, and we can't wait to see the amazing names you come up with for our new catalog system!
