Description

Second volume in the series of Salons de Théophile Gautier, this volume covers the three last years of the July Monarchy and the first two years of the Second Republic. It should be noted that this is the first time that  Gautier's Salon criticism has been included in his Oeuvres Complètes. Gautier's Salons of 1845 and 1846, unavailable until now, are in print for the first time since the 1840s, and may be of particular interest to Baudelaire scholars.
