Interested in physically browsing our book collection for books on African American Studies? Go to the General Collection, Reference Collection, Video Collection, or New Books Shelf (2nd & 3rd floors) of Woodward Library and look up the following call number ranges.

Library of Congress (LC) Call Numbers

  • History of African Americans E184.5-185.98. 
  • Slavery in the United States.  Antislavery movements, browse E441-453. 
  • African American Resource room on the third floor- good for browsing

 

African American Studies crosses all subject areas. For library materials on African Americans in other subject areas, search the library's catalog Austin (under the Search the Library Catalog tab) and combine your search term with African American.
